…the day the nation wept
…the people who lost their lives
…the families that lost their loved ones
…the men and women who rushed to ground zero to help
…that we need to stand strong & together.
I remember the day.
I remember being 7 months pregnant with my daughter, curling my hair while listening to the television news announce that a plane had struck the world trade center. No one knew why or that there were more planes & devastation to come.
I remember sitting at work (which was very close to a national airport) when the second plane hit and the world fell into a shocked silence. The sky was silent. We were told to leave and go home to our families.
I will never forget sitting at my aunts house (we had just lost my uncle unexpectedly the week before) with my cousins, siblings, aunts, uncles, and grandparents watching the horror unfold.
